Pull
2007
video, 4.57 min

A woman is standing in the middle of a room. She puts her hair up in a ponytail, right in the middle of her head. While she is doing this,
she is also trying to liftherself up by the hair. Slowly and with enormous strain, she is pulling herself upwards. She starts by standing on
her toes and then little by little she lifts herself off the floor.

Pull is a video that has its base in the tradition of filmed performance. It is a documentation. The examination of a body in a room.
But also of a psychological state. Pull plays with the perspective of the hero and of heroic failure where Baron von Munchausen is the role
model, the pretence hero who believes in his own lie.
